Doses of healthy living

The greatest damage you can bring to yourself is by breaking the trust of others in you.
If you are trusted, you are the most successful person on earth. Be trust-worthy and value your words. You cannot be trust-worthy if you are gripped by selfishness. People unknowingly respect the person who is selfless and thinks impartially. Selflessness builds a great amount of trust. Be ready to sacrifice the little things in life for the greatest virtue of trust and self-worth.

Never divulge the secret of someone if that is harmful to him/her. And never use the secrets of someone as a weapon to harm or bend him/her. A one-time win will rob you of a life-long win. Do not go for short term benefits.

It is essential in life to make People believe that you are impartial, sincere, truthful, honest and a man of words. It needs a little more sacrifice and a little more kindness of heart. Go for it.
Do not simply use words to construct your Self-image. You may fall in the ill-habit of Self-praise. Do not speak in words, speak in your actions. Words work on the surface but actions sow seeds in the soul. Work hard on what you want to be.
Often we speak high of ourselves and expect others to believe so. But people do not go with words.  People unconsciously evaluate your actions and draw their opinions of you. So speak through your acts and deeds.  Think and do what you want to be. And build a concrete self image by your actions.
Many times you may not get the expected results instantly but constantly sending out the message of your true self-worth by your actions in the desired direction will one day land you on success. Have patience and stride on.

On the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi

Falsehood overpowers
And dark clouds of inhumanity shrouds
Selfishness benumbs the heart
Kindness becomes lost art

The earth smoulders in wars
Deaths, causalities, bruises and scars
Knock the doors, the economy staggers
And the Beggars, helpless women cry together

The wails and the moans means nothing
Because the government is sleeping
Sleeping apathetically with doses of deception
Under the thick blankets of corruption

Ah we are all the believers!
We will dance happily forgetting all woes
Shouting GANAPATI BABA MOURYA
Strongly believing GAJARAJA’S divine Formula.

A Rat-Hit Husband

It seems that a big load of heavy iron is on my head and I cannot think anymore. Because my wife told I have to make a choice either to stay with her or to stay with the mice in my house. I mean if I fail to de-mouse my house, she may take the drastic step to abandon me in the rat infested house leaving me to my fate.
Now I am helpless. I do not know how to combat the battalion of these mighty mice. They seem all-powerful. My surroundings have made them so.
My courtyard ends at a rice field and many unidentified plants have grown in the near vicinity. All of these provide ample Geo-strategic advantages to these mischievous creatures. With the approach of night they come into my house to shatter my sleep and now my marital life.
I am so disastrously rat-hit but I do not resort to Rat-Kill (rat-poison) or rat-traps. I do not know whether I am impotent to declare a crusade against them or I am more Jesus-like who died on the cross with the famous words, “"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

The Magic Book (Written for Children)

It was a magic book. The book was meant for the cheerful and innocent children who cared for others and who were kind to others. The book contained all the secrets of life and all the knowledge of the world. And that book was visible only to those children who were clear at heart and who were well-behaved to the elders.
The book contained all the goodness and richness of life and waited for the right child to come and discover it. So the book lay by the road side securely bound in a magic wooden box. Many school children would pass by it kicking and then ignoring the muddy rotten wooden-box. They happened to think it as some household waste. But it contained the precious book-the book of eternal wisdom.
One day a little school-boy was happily hopping along the way while returning from his school. He was cheerful like a singing bird. He enjoyed the clear blue sky and the green paddy fields on his way. That afternoon was bright and clear. The sun was throwing orange rays everywhere and so everything looked elegant and playful. At a turn in the road the happy school-boy saw a child of his age sitting sadly & lonely on a rock by the side of the road. His shirt was torn, shabby and tattered. The child seemed utterly unhappy.
Children are naturally happy and care-free. They dance in the joy of innocence. They enjoy life to the fullest. But this sad child was an exception. The miseries of life had robbed all his playfulness. Now the long face of the child sitting on the rock suddenly struck the school boy intensely.
The school-boy felt for the sad child deeply. He went near the sad child. Opened his lunch box and handed him a cheese sandwich which he had kept uneaten. The sad boy looked deeply into the eyes of the school boy. Smilingly said the school boy, “It is for you. Now smile and let us be friends.” The sad boy slowly took the sandwich and began to smile. Both of them walked together for a while and at a cross road they parted with a promise to meet again. The poor boy was no longer sad and he waved his hands gleefully at his new-found friend.
On his way back home the school boy saw the wooden-box shinning like emerald by the road side. He went near it and touched it curiously. At his touch, all of a sudden the walls of the box let loose and a book which was all golden flung open. The book was that magic book which gave man the understanding of everything. It contained in it the power of knowledge.
Like a flash of lightening the book took the boy to the wonderful world of all knowledge. All types of creatures, flowers, trees, fruits, fairies, toys and gardens with hanging stars came out of the book and became the friend of the school boy. A beautiful fruit bearing tree lowered its branches to the boy so that he can pluck some of its luscious fruits. The boy could not believe his eyes. He plucked a fruit and closed his eyes enjoying its delicious taste. When he opened his eyes he found that same poor boy standing smilingly. But now the clothes of the boy were shining bright like a silvery moon. He had now a crown on his head which had many precious diamonds. And the boy took the hands of the boy and led him to a colorfully decorated swing. Both the friends sat cozily on the garden swing and enjoyed a lot.
The school boy asked the other boy, “Do you stay here? It is so beautiful!”
The boy with the crown replied, “This is the garden of knowledge and my name is Interest. I am the owner of this garden”
Now the school boy looked intently at his friend and asked, “Why did you become my friend?”
The other boy told,” Knowledge without love and care for others is useless. If you have love and care for others then you have the highest order of knowledge. When I found the feelings of care in you I thought to open the gates of knowledge for you.”
Some butterflies were flying around these two friends. And the flowers were nodding their heads and singing, “ O....O....O...  Knowledge is life’s flame/Love is life’s other name/Together they make a happy game....O.....O....O.”

A Dream

I dream of a vast green valley where I am flying like the happy and colourful butterflies and the sun is smiling upon me. A river is flowing with clean waters shining in the golden rays. Cows are contentedly grazing and the music from the flute of the cowboy is filling the air.
A tiny bird comes fluttering its wings and sits on the branches of a tall tree. The tree is happy and the leaves joyfully toss themselves in the breeze. The bird pecks its beak a few times on the branches and then flies away. The bird flies and mingles with the drifting clouds in the sky..........
There is happiness and harmony. The bird does not speak to the tree but rests on it. The bird is a winged brave-heart which sets out in life’s exploration. The tree exudes oneness everywhere and the music is the melody of human nature on mother earth.
I dream of a vast green valley where I am flying like the happy and colourful butterflies and the sun is smiling upon me.
